2. Service: Kirkbride Unit Concord Centre for Mental Health

Kirkbride is an inpatient acute recovery ward for people with a severe & enduring Mental Illness
Activity/Event: (1) Morning Tea on the Ward (2) Lunch for Carers
Both events will provide Information and pamper packs to carers and promote attendance at the ward’s monthly Carer support group meeting

3. Service: Partnership between SSWAHS School Link, Family Friendly Mental Health Service Program and COPMI (Gaining Ground)
Activity/Event: Young Carers in Schools – Raising Awareness of Students who are carers for a parent or other family member: “Mugs for Teachers Project” Sets of drinking mugs will be distributed to every High School in SSWAHS. Artwork on mugs will include a design created by young cares attending COPMI programs and will display the wording “Do you have a young carer in your classroom” as well as the NSW Young Carers Website

4. Service: Community Participation Fairfield Hospital
Activity/Event: Actors in the hospital foyer will start conversations with people about the role of carers to promote carers to staff and visitors in a light hearted way. Information for carers will be provided in a foyer display and morning tea will be provided along with free hand massages

5. Service: Palliative Care Volunteers Programme, Telopea Ward The Canterbury Hospital
Activity/Event: Morning session –craft activities/massages and information sharing about ongoing activities for carers in the Palliative Care Department at Telopea ward
Lunch Session - put on a lunch for carers in the ward and working in homes across the community. Updates on our service and activities will be provided and an opportunity for them to give feedback on how current services can be improved.

Information packs will be provided to them about carer services and a brief presentation will take place about the process for accessing these services.
